As a purpose-driven consultancy with a strong vision for a better future, Cube Group’s work involves partnering with public value clients to help create a bright outlook for all Australians. The Voice to Parliament offers a step toward a better future by recognising the First People’s rights, history and ongoing relationship with this land and ensuring that they are consulted on laws and policies that affect them.
Cube Group supports a Voice to Parliament and a “yes” vote in the upcoming Referendum.
We are currently implementing our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, and we know we’re at the early stage of our reconciliation journey. We are committed to building our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and priorities and we’ve sought to understand the range of perspectives surrounding the Voice to Parliament Referendum.
Recognition and voice have been central to the reconciliation movement, and we feel confident that a “yes” vote will bring us closer to a more just, inclusive and strong society.
We encourage you to learn more about The Voice, and we’ve linked a few resources that we’ve found particularly helpful:
- Shelley Reys’ educational video: Voice to Parliament Demystified
- Monash University Article: Voice to Parliament: Debunking 10 Myths and Misconceptions
- First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria
- National Indigenous Times
- National Indigenous Television
By embracing curiosity, we’ve gained insights from the voices of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities themselves, deepened our understanding of the issues being addressed, and embraced a more comprehensive and nuanced view. We believe in using business as a force for good. We hope that sharing our perspective (and the resources we’ve found educational) will encourage others to seek out the details and rich insights available, to inform their vote.
