This significant appointment continues the firm’s trajectory as a growing purpose-driven consultancy servicing clients across Australia.
Cube Group is pleased to announce that Kathryn Anderson will join our team as a Partner. This significant appointment continues the firm’s trajectory as a growing purpose-driven consultancy servicing clients across Australia.
Most recently Kathryn was the Deputy Secretary of Corporate Services at the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP), and comes to Cube with more than 30 years experience in the Victorian and Queensland public services.
Cube Group founder and managing partner Ben Schramm said Kathryn’s appointment would continue to strengthen Cube’s ability to support purpose-led clients. “Kathryn is an authentic and collaborative leader with skills and experience that will benefit our clients across the public purpose sector. Kathryn’s insights will be instrumental in helping our  clients tackle some of our nation’s most unprecedented social, economic and environmental challenges.”
During her time at DELWP, Kathryn developed DELWP’s Community Charter to put the community at the centre of the department’s work and played a key role in the establishment of Solar Victoria, progressing one of the most ambitious renewable energy programs in Australia. Kathryn led DELWP’s corporate services transformation to build a high performing organisation, and championed the Department’s efforts to become a diverse, inclusive and gender-equal workplace, including implementation of the acclaimed “all roles flex” initiative.
Kathryn’s past roles include Director of Victorian Youth Services and Youth Justice and Deputy Secretary of Community and Executive Services at the Victorian Department of Health & Human Services, where she  designed and implemented the Youth Support Service, an early intervention program to help young people at risk of entering the youth justice system.
Prior to this, Kathryn also held several senior positions across the Queensland Public Service, including roles with Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.
Kathryn is a board member of Whitelion, and was previously on the Board of the Cenitex, the Victorian government’s ICT shared service provider.  She brings to Cube deep experience in corporate governance, policy reform, organisational transformation and change management in diverse public purpose settings.
A Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (Vic), Kathryn was named as one of the Top 50 Public Sector Women in Victoria in 2019 recognising her outstanding contributions to public administration, the creation of public value, and exemplary service and leadership to the Victorian community through work in the public sector.
Kathryn puts culture first in describing her decision to join Cube: “I’m delighted to have chosen Cube Group to pursue this next stage of my career. It is an organisation with a genuine commitment to public value, and a team that  works in a spirit of partnership with their clients. Cube provides me with an opportunity to bring my skills and experience to the table on diverse projects and across many sectors of our economy.”
Commencing  August 1, Kathryn will join the firm’s Strategy, Policy and Change team and our Sustainable Natural and Built Environments portfolio.
